WTF! Death Stranding Director’s Cut coming to Mac


Hideo Kojima took a surprise visit to Apple WWDC to announce the release of Death Stranding Director’s Cut on Mac.

Apple seems to be interested in gaming, but how much is the company willing to dive in? Death Stranding coming to macOS is hella exciting, but what does that actually mean?

Here’s what we know so far about Death Stranding Director’s Cut on Mac.

Apple + Games = Never… ?

Metal 3 are Apple’s proprietary shaders that allow powerful features that help your games and pro apps tap into the full potential of Apple silicon. This is nothing new, but developers are bringing a slew of new games to Mac, including Death Stranding.

Games include DEATH STRANDING DIRECTOR’S CUT, Stray, Fort Solis, World of Warcraft: Dragonflight, HUMANKIND, Resident Evil Village: Winters’ Expansion, The Medium, ELEX II, Firmament, SnowRunner, Disney Dreamlight Valley, No Man’s Sky, Dragonheir: Silent Gods, and Layers of Fear.

macOS Sonoma is introducing a new Game Mode, which optimizing the performance to provide smoother frame rates. This also lowers the latency with AirPods and controllers.

We don’t know much about Death Stranding Director’s Cut apart from that it’s coming to macOS later this year. Unfortunately, it looks like Apple is still cherry picking the games that are arriving to macOS. But we’ll see what the future holds.
